miLEARN LIVEblog- What are we doing and Why?
Posted on | April 3, 2010 | No Comments
Hi,
For those of you who have already registered to our free peer to peer (student 2 student) portal- a huge “THANK YOU!”. We appreciate your interest but know that some people do not really know what to write or say in a post. Remember it isn’t so much the quantity as to the quality and the NEED for a post, or question. Just look at Twitter as a true example that in most cases (and you really have to weed through a lot of junk) the shorter the blog- the better in terms of receiving the results you are looking for.
It is with that premise that we decided to change miLEARN around a bit. For years we have been catering to thousands of students’ needs in searching for quality tutorials and notes, tests, and examples in the maths and sciences. And we have succeeded. Our self study math tutorials like Math 436 or College Stats have proved to be extremely popular and helpful to thousands of students. But a change is in order to meet the immediate and “I want an answer NOW” demands that students are requiring. Think of it. Teachers and professors don’t have the time, or want to spend the time (your pick) to work with each of you. Many times, it’s difficult to understand your professor, either because English is a second or third language, or because they just cannot communicate and effectively disseminate the information you are paying for. (and tuition fees will only keep increasing guys!). So. What to do. Large class sizes, busy or uninterested Profs. TAs you can’t find, tutors who are around…somewhere but never at that crucial moment when you have experienced a brain fart and need some answers right away.
We have looked at this and with the help of some really cool university students from Ottawa and Waterloo Ontario; we have brought miLEARN into the web 2.0 real time world. miLEARN LIVEblog is a student 2 student network. A student help community. When you are stuck, need help, stressed out during your all nighters, login to miLEARN and with the help of students like you registering and giving a few minutes of your time from wherever you are- you will – we hope- find some answers and maybe even make some cool friends along the way.
To those already registered- log into the LIVEblog - ask some questions- get some answers. To those new to us- welcome!
Any questions email Mike at info@milearn.com
Thanks!
